Growth ain’t lazy…
Your growth cannot afford for you to be lazy.
The ‘I don’t feel like it’ is detrimental to you. Laziness versus exhaustion, what space are you presently holding? I remember asking a psychiatrist their opinion on laziness. This particular provider is always on top of their work, and they don’t delay to get tasks completed. They said to me, and I’m paraphrasing, but they said, ‘Laziness is the belief that you’ll have time to do ‘it’ later.’ I remember thinking, hmm… How many times have I pushed something off, and later regretted not completing it ahead of time because some unforeseen life event tapped on my door. So, that statement hold’s truth. We assume that there will be time later or that in another moment things will just align for us to get the tasks accomplished smoothly. However, that is not how life works.
So, what does our lazy stem from? Is it depression, fear, physical exhaustion, mental exhaustion, or bad habits? Identifying the root of your lazy can save you. My laziness was stemming from depression, bad habits, and physical exhaustion. I was in denial for a long time about it, and then decided that enough was enough. I didn’t enjoy my lazy bouts although it was a familiar comfort zone. So, I reached into my tool box of resources and then found new tools to help me. I went to the doctor to get insight on what was physically draining me, and was able to make some lifestyle adjustments, add vitamins, and change my sleeping pattern. It made a huge difference in that department. The other thing that I did was begin therapy on a consistent basis. Unpacking past patterns, and giving myself permission to move in different spaces allowed for me to grow. Now, these methods may not be the tools you need but its’ worth exploring. You are the expert in your life and you get to use the tools you have and upgrade them when necessary. Whatever you do, don’t allow your laziness to box you in and keep you from the growth you deserve. You got this!
